Pour célébrer la sortie du nouveau single « Party Girl », nous voudrions vous voir tous apparaitre dans une fanvidéo musicale.
Descendez dans votre ville, rendez vous dans des endroits spécifiques et filmez vous en train de danser, mimer, jouer sur « Party Girl ».
Soyez créatifs, et faites-en sorte que l’on remarque facilement de quel pays vous venez!

McFly jouera au festival Rock FM Live le 15 Août prochain à Blackpool, aux côtés d’artistes tels que The Script, Scouting For Girls, Craig David, The Hoosiers et The Saturdays.

En revanche, il semblerait que tout soit d’ores et déjà complet. Vous pouvez malgré tout tenter de gagner des tickets pour y assister. Plus d’informations sont à trouver sur le site de l’évènement: Clik’

Vous rappelez-vous de ces photos où les membres du groupe posaient nus derrière leur instrument? Oui? Et bien voici une excellente nouvelle pour vous, ils ont recommencé! McFly a en effet repris du service auprès du magazine gay Attitude puisqu’ils ont à nouveau poser nus pour eux. Le reste se passe de commentaires… Si ce n’est que les plus jeunes devraient peut-être s’abstenir. Quant aux plus vieux, …et bien régalez-vous, leurs nombreuses séances de musculation ont payé!
Le magazine sera en vente Mardi prochain en Angleterre. En ce qui concerne la France, vous pourrez peut-être trouver votre exemplaire dans les librairies WHSmith.

Ce qu’on y apprend:

• C’est un site construit sur le principe d’un monde virtuel
• Il ne s’agit pas d’une copie d’Habbo Hotel. On y voit les garçons comme si on y était (Tous ces shoot vidéos réalisés sur fond vert, où ils ont été filmé de tous les angles, ont servi à construire ce site)
• Le site sera accessible pour tout le monde, et nous pourrons « interagir » avec le groupe gratuitement.
• Cependant, il existe aussi une inscription (payante cette fois-ci, à raison de 6£/mois, donc environ 8€/mois) qui donne un accès total au site!
• L’inscription donne accès aux chambres des garçons, à des téléchargements de titres inédits (démos, chansons non mixées, etc…), à des vidéos, des discussions en ligne, et bien plus encore.
• Il y aura aussi la possibilité de suivre des leçons de guitare avec Danny.
• Il y aura des cadeaux à gagner, selon un mécanisme de points… Les cadeaux seront par exemple: Des réductions sur les billets de concert, un accès à des préventes, des meet&greet, des marchandises du groupe, et l’opportunité de discuter avec le groupe sur le net.
• Sur le même principe que Twitcam, il y aura des sessions webchats, pendant lesquelles le groupe communiquera avec les fans. Il semblerait que nous pourrons également donner notre avis, par un système de vote, sur certaines décisions. Comme par exemple, le choix des singles.
• Le Super Site permettra au groupe de lancer leur musique mondialement en même temps! Nous, fans internationaux, ne seront donc plus pénalisés.
• Ce site est absolument inédit. Tous ceux qui s’y inscriront en auront vraisemblablement pour leur argent!

Shine A Light:

Here’s a review from the second song we heard at the exclusive McFly album launch for the track Shine A Light, penned with Taio Cruz. Before playing it, the boys described the process of the creating the song “like working backwards” – building up from beats, bass lines and drum sounds in the studio, rather than their trademark low-fi approach, working from a piano, creating a complete song before adding the various bells and whistles.

Shine A Light is set to be the boy’s second single from the new album, sounding bigger than the musical output of albums one to four combined, (try to) forget twee charming songs like All About You, because this is a massive sounding uptempo number which, despite sounding more ‘McFly’ and organic than Party Girl, continues that theme. Although we’re going to say it’s actually better.

It has more punch than a school disco, a soaring high-pitch vocal in the verses and a massive Shine a light on her / Shine a light on her / Shine on her / If anybody sees her chorus. That chorus also comes complete with sing-a-long Eh-Eh-Ehs that fans of Rihanna’s Umbrella will be familiar with, and should translate into a life-changing pop moment in a live setting. So pretty good then, and there’s more…

It also sounds like a song containing hidden gems that are the reward for repeat listens – but obviously having heard it only once it is rather difficult to know if that’s the case. We’re labelling this as ‘probable’.

If we wanted to say something negative about Shine A Light, we’d claim it’s a calculated attempt to sound current at all costs (synthy radio friendly monster track are sort of the ‘in’ thing right about now), but the quality of the production, the vocal delivery and the song’s dynamic and exciting form (whilst still being accessible on first listen) lift it far past this and personify the passion and ambition that the boys claimed led the creation of this album. The first step on a long journey to be the world’s biggest band and teentoday.co.uk’s ‘real’ comeback.

I’ll Be Your Man:

The third and final song we heard at the album playback, I’ll Be Your Man was written in London with Dallas Austin, and is the result of the band’s desire for a more “sexy and soulful” sound. And if you hit ‘see more’ you can hear TT’s verdict.

Let’s start with what this song isn’t – because those of you still reminiscing about a childhood spent stalking McFly version 1.0 outside their London hotels – need to hear this… I’ll Be Your Man is not a young, chirpy guitar pop ballad about a girl not calling you back, or being too busy washing her hair to go and watch Toy Story 3, and whilst this revelation may be painful to some of you, in its place you will find…

…a much slower affair, a kind of classic sounding lighters mobiles-in-the-air big ballad dedicated to the lady in your life (how lucky is Frankie-the-Sats?!), with lots and lots of electric guitar riffs and solos throughout. Free of electronic bleeps, synths and other studio trickery, this is the most McFly track of the three, but it’s much more sweeping and older sounding than some of the boy’s poppier moments that you know and love (and may well soon be missing). It’s all very grown up and serious, but mostly in a good way.

Most impressive on this track are the vocals, unlike anything the boys have delivered before – less shouty, more powerful and affecting, whilst being restrained and delicately nuanced I’ll be your man through the fire / I’ll hold your hand through the flames / I’ll be the one you desire / Honey ‘cos once you understand / I’ll be your man (we think). Infact the whole thing is rather beautiful, either the soundtrack to an evening sat at home thinking “when will I meet The One” whilst frantically gobbling down Milka and watching Beaches (admit it, you’ve been there too) OR background music for smug couple-y types.

McFLY – Party Girl

N/P: Vous l’aurez remarqué, il s’agit là d’un style musical se trouvant à des années lumières de ce qu’ils faisaient avant. Néanmoins, ce n’est qu’UNE seule chanson. Certes, elle donne le ton au reste de l’album, mais d’autres chansons seront à venir, et rien ne prédit qu’elles seront identiques à Party Girl. Après quelques écoutes, certains aimeront, d’autres n’adhèreront probablement jamais, mais n’oubliez pas qu’un groupe qui évolue musicalement est très certainement plus respectable qu’une formation qui se cloître dans un seul genre et qui ne prend jamais de risques! Il faut savoir s’adapter et évoluer. Les garçons l’ont fait, et ils l’ont fait bien! (On ne peut pas le nier, c’est vraiment bon!) L’important maintenant, c’est qu’ils fassent ce qu’ils aiment, et s’ils ont envie de se lancer dans du Rn’B Electro, qu’ils le fassent! Tant qu’ils le font bien. Le mieux pour l’instant, c’est d’attendre la suite des chansons… Nous aurons peut-être de bonnes surprises!

Comme promis, voici tout un tas d’articles publiés sur la toile, suite aux conférences de presse organisées par le groupe. Pour ceux qui n’ont pas le courage de tout lire, voici ce qu’il y a d’important à savoir:

The Sun:

ALL-night tequila benders, visits to strip clubs and boozy dinners at ELTON JOHN’s gaff have had a profound effect on McFLY.
They’ve ditched their trademark pop rock for a funkier R&B sound. And HARRY JUDD, TOM FLETCHER, DOUGIE POYNTER and DANNY JONES yesterday treated me to three tracks from their as-yet-untitled new album. They now sound more like PRINCE or MICHAEL JACKSON than McFly.
First single Party Girl is a slice of futuristic R&B. And two tracks written with TAIO CRUZ, Shine A Light and ballad I’ll Be Your Man, are decent too.
Axeman Danny told me: « Our influences have been people like BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN and THE BEATLES, but this time we took inspiration from artists we’d never tapped into. »
Recording sessions in Atlanta were masterminded by R&B super-producer DALLAS AUSTIN.
Tom said: « Dallas introduced us to Patron tequila. He almost killed us on a couple of occasions – it’s lethal. He also really likes strip joints, so we’d hammer the tequila and then head off to these clubs.
« One night we ended up going round Elton John’s house in Atlanta for dinner with Dallas.
« It was a great time. »

A new look, brand new songs and a new website coming soon!

We were lucky enough to be invited to a penthouse suite in a rather expensive London hotel yesterday. Before you think that some sleazy footballer tried to bribe us with strawberries and a diet Coke, let us tell you that it was none other than McFly. Here’s what happened…
The lads sat us down and told us how the new album (out sometime in November) was created with the help of American producer called Dallas Austin and Taio Cruz. Dallas has worked with musicians like Michael Jackson, Gwen Stefani and Madonna.

Then the boys played us 4 tracks from their new album. You’re not going to believe this but it sounds nothing like McFly. It’s like a brand new band with some amazing new songs. They might as well go for a new name like Razorbright or Fall Out Toy or something like that.

And here are some amazing facts from the amazing day we spent with the lads. Want us to say amazing again? Amazing.
* Dougie is looking FIT FIT FIT.
* Tom has been to the gym. His arms are the size of our thighs times 4. BUFF!
* The boys have got a totally new wardrobe and it looks GOOD.
* Harry offered us a cookie. It was a trendy hotel cookie that melted in our mouth.
* McFly’s manager is so excited about the new album, he dribbled his drink on his shirt.
* The first single (out September 4) is called Party Girl.
* Our favourite track is Shine A Light. It’s got Number 1 written all over it. It might be the second single.
* The band’s promotional material has a superhero theme. And let us tell you it’s not created by any old shoddy graphic design company.

Oh, and the band are launching a new website which looks so amazing, it’s going to make you feel like you’re in contact with McFly 24/7. Not sure how much we can say about it but it continues the superhero theme and each of the symbols below represent a member of McFly.

NOT since Kylie went grunge has the music scene been shaken by such a dramatic change in direction. But fans and haters of McFly prepare to be shocked. Their cheesy pop has gone and heavy synths and sexy beats now dominate the four tracks played at an exclusive listening session in a swanky London hotel.

The lads teamed up with Madonna and Britney producer Dallas Austin for their first single Party Girl, released September 4. The result is an immense dancefloor-filler laden with Lady GaGa Bad Romance-esque “Ooh-oohs”.
Taio Cruz has also worked his knob-twiddling magic on two tracks for their untitled fifth studio album.

Second single Shine A Light shows their sensitive side, singing over club beats: “She left me with a broken heart. She took the light and left me in the dark.”
While Nowhere Left To Run has scintillating synths layered over sharp beats.

McFly have revealed that producer Dallas Austin took them to strip clubs while they worked on their new album with him in the US.
The group, who are gearing up for the release of their fifth studio LP, admitted that they would also « hammer » tequila with Austin – known for his work with Madonna, Sugababes and Pink.

Drummer Tom Fletcher told The Sun: « Dallas introduced us to Patron tequila. He almost killed us on a couple of occasions – it’s lethal. He also really likes strip joints, so we’d hammer the tequila and then head off to these clubs.
« One night we ended up going round Elton John’s house in Atlanta for dinner with Dallas. It was a great time. »

Discussing their latest as-yet-untitled record, Danny Jones said: « Our influences have been people like Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles, but this time we took inspiration from artists we’d never tapped into. »
The LP will also feature two tracks co-written with Taio Cruz, called ‘Shine A Light’ and ‘I’ll Be Your Man’.
McFly’s new single ‘Party Girl’ is scheduled for release in early September.

Entertainment Focus:

Last night EF was invited to spend a couple of hours with McFly as the band gears up for the release of their brand new album. Arriving at a top secret location late yesterday afternoon, we took our place in the intimate setting to find our about the band’s new album, their new sound and their exciting new ‘super site’.

Openly mingling with the small audience, the McFly boys turned on the charm as they greeted us. Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry (who’s clearly been working out – check out those guns!) looked great and took their places as they readied to talk about their new sound along with manager Fletch.

What followed was an interesting explanation of the band’s decision to reunite with former label Universal Record and the reason why they felt they had to change their sound. Fletch explained the band recorded an album’s worth of material whilst in Australia but on their return home decided that the sound didn’t push the band as much as it should. This sparked the band to push their creative boundaries and they soon flew off to the US to work with uber-producer Dallas Austin, responsible for big hits by TLC, Pink and Mariah Carey to name a few. Fletch handed over to the band and Tom took over recounting their first experiences with Dallas. Describing Dallas’ hardcore approach to working Tom recalled the band being initially surprised as they were working in ways they weren’t used to.

The band seemed genuinely excited about the next phase in their hugely successful careers and talked passionately about the project. As well as talking about their experiences with Dallas, the boys also talked about working with Taio Cruz to pen some additional tracks to be included on the record. They also discussed the super-hero theme their new artwork has adopted to tie-in with their new sound and look.

Throughout the band speaking there were video clips and previews of new tracks from the album. New single Party Girl was the first track we heard and it sounds quite unlike anything McFly has done before. With heavier beats and R&B/electro-rhythms the track is a million miles away from the band’s previous releases. Other tracks previewed were the Prince-esque I’ll Be Your Man and two Taio Cruz penned tracks Shine A Light (the album’s second single) and Nowhere Left To Run (a rough cut still to be mixed properly). Each of the songs sounded completely different to what we’ve heard from McFly before and could see the band picking up an older audience. We were genuinely impressed by the band’s new direction and can safely say we’re excited to see how the fans respond.

The last part of our time with the band consisted of being shown the new McFly ‘super site’. Still in development, the website is a high-tech, visually stunning and highly interactive offering that fans will be blown away by. The site will offer some free content alongside a subscription service allowing fans to get closer to the band than ever before. Subscribers will get the opportunity to win points that they can trade in for exclusive McFly goodies and they will also get access to exclusive content directly from the band. We’ll be bringing you more information on the website in the coming weeks.

McFly’s first single Party Girl has been described as having an R&B sound.
The boys have often spoken about their ‘change in direction’ and for the new music they have taken inspiration from different artists.
Speaking to The Sun, who branded Party Girl a ‘a slice of futuristic R&B’, Danny Jones said: ‘Our influences have been people like Bruce Springsteen and The Beatles, but this time we took inspiration from artists we’d never tapped into.’

Ce soir, dans les coins de 18h45, la chanson sera de nouveau diffusée à l’antenne, mais en ENTIÈRE cette fois-ci. A noter que vous pouvez écouter Radio 1 en direct sur leur site: ICI. Si le site ne fonctionne pas pour certains d’entre vous (avec les milliers de fans qui s’y connecteront, il y aura très certainement des bugs); pas d’inquiétudes,  nous la posterons ici aussitôt!

Dan Wootton de Celeb XS était également présent à l’une des conférences de presse du groupe aujourd’hui et ce dernier a posté davantage informations quant aux projets du groupe! Voici ci-dessous ce qu’il y a à retenir de tout ça:

• McFly est sur le point de faire un énorme retour à la Pop.
• Selon lui, les nouvelles chansons sont tout simplement géniales!
• Le premier single « Party Girl » (produit par Dallas Austin) marque un réel changement de direction. Il l’a qualifié très « Gaga-esque ».
• Comme nous l’avions déjà annoncé, « Party Girl » sera disponible en vente le 4 Septembre (sur Itunes) et le 6 Septembre (en magasins).
• Le site de la Super City McFLY sera lui aussi lancé lors de la première semaine de Septembre.
• Le second single sera « Shine A Light » (produit par Taio Cruz). Il semblerait que ce soit un vrai hit également!
• Le groupe a en effet signé à nouveau avec Universal Island Records. Mais il s’agit cette fois-ci d’une collaboration!
• Selon Dougie, McFly fera une tournée théâtres (à l’image de l’Up Close And Personal Tour) en Angleterre avant Noël.
• De même, il y aura une tournée d’arènes en Angleterre, ainsi qu’une tournée mondiale, en 2011.
• L’album sera sorti pour Noël (pas de date exacte pour l’instant).
• Enfin, l’album risque de nous surprendre car il s’agit là d’un vrai changement de direction. Donc peu de chances que l’on retrouve le style musical de Radio:Active. Mais les garçons font apparemment ça très sérieusement…

La première conférence de presse de la journée est désormais terminée. D’autres suivront aujourd’hui et demain, mais devraient toutes être plus ou moins identiques à la première. Comme dit précédemment, nous avons pu avoir un aperçu de son déroulement grâce à Teen Today qui a posté sur Twitter tout ce qu’il s’y passait.
